ArchDaily shares GriD architect’s modern off-the-grid sauna located in West Virginia on a remote mountain farm. This project is a research driven design build project; blending students, professionals, and craftsmen, exploring time-tested construction techniques as well as new methodologies.
For 39 years, Washingtonian has joined with the DC chapter of the American Institute of Architects to recognize outstanding new work from the area’s best residential architects. On a farm in the West Virginia mountains that also includes a cabin and barn, this rustic-modern sauna was constructed of concrete, steel, and wood.
